The Victoria Climbié Charitable Trust founded in September 2003, in memory of Victoria Climbié, was established to carry the spirit that Every Child Matters to her hometown of Abobo in the Ivory Coast, by building a primary school to provide local children with the educational oppportunities that were not available to Victoria. The school is called ‘Centre D’ Education Primaire Victoria Adjo Climbié’
The school – a legacy from the Public Inquiry by Lord Laming in 2003 – opened for the academic year 2009-2010. The Trust continues to seek donations to help secure the future of the school.
