PARENTAL MENTAL HEALTH: DOES EVERY CHILD MATTER?
Wednesday 3rd June 2009
This is a conference for professionals, elected members and volunteers in all agencies who have specific responsibilities for safeguarding London’s children, and supporting them and their families.
The conference aims to promote understanding of the key issues for black and minority ethnic children whose parents have mental health problems. The interface between adult mental health services and children’s services was highlighted in the recent Laming Review as a key area in need of greater focus, and the conference will be a valuable opportunity to showcase the good practice currently underway in London, share some of the resources that have already been developed and debate the next steps necessary to further safeguard this potentially vulnerable group of children.
VCF is the leading independent organisation campaigning for improvement in child protection policies and practices, and the link agency between statutory agencies, care services & BME communities
In memory of Antoine and Keniece Ogunkoya
Sponsored by the Royal College of Nursing
