‘BABY P’ PETITION

Public Call for Accountability: Have Your Say <<< Click link to view other comments

In the wake of the horrendous failings that resulted in the terrible death suffered by Baby P, the Victoria Climbie Foundation finds itself once more demanding Government action to prevent more abuse of children.

The Public has reacted strongly to the tragic death of Baby P, calling for those who failed to prevent his death to be called to account.  VCF – The Victoria Climbié Foundation UK - the link organisation between the statutory agencies and the community – fully supports this call.

Liberal Democrat MP Lynne Featherstone, whose constituency is in Haringey, called for the council’s director of children’s services, Sharon Shoesmith, and the cabinet member for children’s services, Liz Santry, to resign or be sacked. “The legislation puts the director and cabinet member in the frame. No one was sacked or resigned last time and that is why this has happened again. This time heads must roll.”
