Hosted by Harrow Association of Voluntary Services (HAVS), the Victoria Climbié Foundation organised a seminar on Tuesday 26th February 2008 aimed at safeguarding children in Harrow. The seminar provided a platform for dialogue and open discussion between community organisations working with families, young people and children - and the statutory agencies represented. In addition, the seminar focused on our curent scope of work with African community groups working with children or families who may be affected or influenced by beliefs in witchcraft or spirit possession. Guest speakers: Paul Clark – Harrow Safeguarding Children Board, Sue Westbury – Designated Safeguarding Nurse with Harrow Primary Care Trust, Ms Serwah – Coordinator at BTWSC, an African community group based in Harrow.
