Jointly hosted by The Victoria Climbié Foundation, TaCMEP and the Colchester African Caribbean Community Group on 25 March 2010, the main objective of this event was to raise child protection awareness in Colchester. The aim of the seminar was to address the key issues for those organisations working with families, young people and children – and to begin to develop the link between statutory agencies and the community.

Guest speakers included Barry Hope and Wendy Hewlett from Children’s Safeguarding, Sarah Jane Ward from North East Essex Primary Care Trust, Detective Sergeant Greg Potter, Child Abuse Investigation Unit.
