The primary aim of this initiative was to open a dialogue with minority ethnic communities about child abuse. A main objective of the study was to gain understanding of people’s perceptions regarding about child abuse: to explore any specific cultural/traditional/religious forms or rational for child abuse and if there any inhibitors to reporting concerns about welfare of children. Another element of the project was to raise awareness about what constitutes child abuse as well as of the role of child protection agencies.
