VCF – The Victoria Climbié Foundation is one of four organisations funded through the Safeguarding Children’s Rights special initiative to support work with London’s African communities that develops and strengthens community-based preventive activities in this field. The initiative was established in response to concerns raised with Trust for London (TfL) and City Parochial Foundation (CPF) by African community groups about the need for support at grassroots level. Funding will support work with young people, parents, social workers, policy-makers and church leaders.

Grants were also awarded to AFRUCA, Churches’ Child Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS) and UK Congolese Safeguarding Action Group.

CPF’s Policy Director, Mubin Haq, and Special Initiative Field Officer, Rachael Takens-Milne, direct and oversee the work of the funded groups.

Safeguarding Children’s Rights Advisory Group
CPF and TfL support funded organisations through an advisory group involving experts from relevant fields including the Metropolitan Police, child protection and children’s services.
